Outside of work, my hobbies tend towards nerdy things. I have played Dungeons and Dragons since middle school and Star Wars is an important piece of my childhood (and adulthood, who am I kidding). I enjoy playing board and video games with my friend and family because it helps connect me to them and with TTRPGs, to their creativity.
The other main hobbies I have revolve around the outdoors. I enjoy camping, hiking, and exploring new places. We also enjoy growing some of our own food at home and managing our landscape in a way that meets our needs and blends it with the native environment. I was a hobbyist beekeeper for a number of years, but am on a break for now until we get updated ordinances where we live. Birding is a newer hobby of mine that I'm careful to not let slow down our walks by TOO much. I could stare at a bird for the better part of a day.
My most important aspects of life are related to my wife and child. I'm lucky enough to be able to do all these things with them and enjoy our time together going out to explore the world. One of my goals in life is to heal the world as much as I can, so I attempt to do that through my care of the land, the critters, and the humans. All are deeply important to me.
